NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Update – June 1st, 2023

Dear players,

The servers of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will be suspended for maintenance from May 31st, 2023 at 23:00 (UTC) to June 1st, 2023 at 03:00 (UTC). We suggest you log out in advance and enter the game again after the maintenance.

The details for this update are as follows:

Brand New Content

I. New Hero: Zai

Zai's life is defined by pain and struggle. After a prophecy warned she would bring about great calamity, her parents sold her to human traffickers.

She spent years in their hands before escaping to the Annica, an elite clan of assassins who recognized her potential for darkness and violence.

They trained her to be the ultimate killing machine, and though she was denied the vengeance she initially wanted, she's found the next best thing: destroying everything good and pure in the world.

The third skill and ultimate are not yet available in this version. Once available, you can complete heroes'Cultivation Quests to unlock them. If you've completed the required Cultivation Quests before upcoming updates, the skill and ultimate will be unlocked automatically.

 

II: New Feature: Spirit Well

Starting now, multiple Spirit Wells will spawn at the 240-second and 500-second marks in The Herald's Trial and BOT Mode. When you occupy one of them, you will receive an item that upgrades your main weapon or armor (excluding air-dropped weapons) to Epic quality.

 

III: New Quest: Valiant Challenge

In Quick Match, The Herald's Trial, and BOT Mode, a new Valiant Challenge Quest Scroll has been introduced. Accepting the quest initiates the Valiant Challenge, which reveals the player's location to all non-friendly players on the map and periodically scans for non-friendly players within a specific range. If the challenger survives within the designated time, they will be rewarded with a large number of Dark Tide Coins.

When a player accepts the Valiant Challenge quest, they become the challenger, and non-friendly players become opponents. Opponents can track the challenger on the map, and defeating the challenger yields considerable rewards. Even assisting in the defeat will earn some Dark Tide Coins.

 

IV. New Enigma Peak Levels in Showdown

In Showdown, when your sense level reaches 450, you can challenge the new Enigma Peak Levels, where the monsters have strengthened Health and Attack, and some of the Bosses'moves have changed.

In the Enigma Peak, Showdown Souljades drop by various kinds. If you defeat a certain number of Bosses in a single match, you can also receive rewards like Legendary Souljade Choice Gift, Thunder Essence, exclusive Hero Badge, Quench Crystal and so on.

 

V: Map Updates

1. Optimized and iterated the spawn point of Inn of the Dunes, and enhanced resource allocation.

 

VI. Limited-time Event: Unruly Blaze

Event Time: From June 1 Update to June 14, 2023 at 20:00 (UTC)

Event Rules:

1. Complete daily quests to earn Ghoulish Lanterns and Soul Orders. Soul Orders can be redeemed for exclusive event rewards.

2. Ghoulish Lanterns are used to refresh Underworld Register for random quests. Complete the quests to earn Reckoning Treasures and more!

3. All players share the same Underworld Registers Quests and once you've completed one, it will not appear again.

 

Hero Adjustments

I. Justina Gu

Adjustments have been made to the Rage consumption of [Arctic Wraith] and [Arctic Wraith: Blizzard] as follows:

1. Activating the Ultimate will consume 40% Rage, and the remaining Rage will not gradually deplete over time. The duration of the Ultimate remains at 30 seconds.

2. Using [Shadowswipe] and [Shadowswipe: Blizzard] will consume Rage: 20%/30% in Solo and Duos, and 15%/30% in Trios.

3. If [Shadowswipe] hits 2 enemies at the same time, the next [Shadowswipe] will not consume Rage.

4. [Shadowswipe] and [Shadowswipe: Blizzard] will now have a 70% damage reduction effect.

//Dev Notes: The benefits that Justina gains after activating her Ultimate now solely depend on the player's performance with Shadowswipe. In the current environment, we believe that the previous Rage consumption was somewhat high, especially in Solos. After the adjustment, Shadowswipe will now consume Rage, thus limiting its synergy with the Souljade [Soul Release]. However, it gains more flexible endurance through [Rebirth Blossom Spirit].

 

II. Valda Cui

1. The duration of the [Nether Nightmare: Smite] Ultimate has been increased from 16 to 20 seconds, and the Protective Qi has been raised from 2000 to 2200.

2. The startup frames of the water spear in [Nether Nightmare: Smite] have been significantly reduced to optimize the throwing experience. The number of times the water spear can be thrown has been adjusted from 4 to 3. Immune time after being freed from the [Dragon's Coil] is increased to 4 sec.

//Dev Notes: Currently, Valda's V2 Ultimate has a short duration after activation, making it difficult to exert its intended pressure. The use count and hit experience of the water spear also fall short of expectations. Therefore, we have extended the duration of the V2 Ultimate and optimized the throwing experience of the water spear to make it easier to hit enemies.

 

III. Yueshan

1. [Rampage: Heaven's Descent] has been changed to [Rampage: Command]. This ability now attacks surrounding enemies and grants substantial health recovery, with a CD of 16 seconds.

2. The duration of the recovery frames for [Dragontail] has been slightly shortened.

//Dev Notes: Currently, Yueshan's V2 has limited utility and lacks effective recovery capabilities during combat. Therefore, we have made adjustments to V2's skills and effects to provide Yueshan with a means of health recovery.

 

IV. Viper Ning

1. The Recovery reduction effect of [Yushan Enigma: Enfeeble] now lasts for 7 seconds, down from 15, and its CD has been increased from 20 to 22 seconds.

//Dev Notes: Viper Ning's F3 currently triggers opponents to confront and seek healing opportunities after being hit. However, the 15-second healing ban significantly limits this strategy. Therefore, we have reduced the duration of the healing ban and will closely monitor its performance.

 

V. Akos Hu

1. The duration of the [Feral Frenzy] and [Feral Frenzy: Grab] Ultimates has been adjusted to 26 seconds in Solos, while it remains 35 seconds in Duos and Trios.

2. The duration of the recovery frames for the airborne vertical strikes performed during the tiger leap state has been increased.

3. The airborne horizontal strikes performed during the tiger leap state will no longer stagger targets under the effect of Ziping Yin's [Inspiration Shield].

4. With the Talent Skill [Roar: Terror], targets under the terror effect can now pre-input commands while in a controlled state.

//Dev Notes: Currently, Akos Hu can gain an advantage by utilizing a pounce attack after activating his Ultimate. While preserving the experience of his enhanced burst ability, we have adjusted the duration of Akos Hu's abilities in Solos to balance his combat effectiveness against other heroes.

[Roar: Terror] is intended to primarily serve as a tool for focus firing in team modes, but currently, it also provides a strong advantage in initiating combat in Solos. Allowing pre-input commands while under the terror effect will enable players to react promptly once the terror effect ends.

 

VI. Tarka Ji

1. The default duration for all of Tarka Ji's Ultimate talents will vary depending on the different game modes. [Blackout] and [Blackout: Vulcan] now last 24 seconds in Solos, while [Blackout: Frenzy] lasts for 20 seconds. The default durations of all Ultimate Talents in Duos and Trios remain unchanged.

2. The Rage recovery efficiency of [Blackout: Frenzy] has been reduced by 35%, and the Attack boost for both the player and teammates has been adjusted from 10% to 5%.

3. The Rage consumption of [Inner Fire] and [Inner Fire: Bide] while using [Blackout: Vulcan] has been reduced. The current Rage consumption for both abilities is now 20% across the board.

//Dev Notes: Currently, Tarka Ji's exceptional durability, extended invincibility frames, and stamina make him excel in terms of survival, mobility, and damage output, surpassing most other heroes. Therefore, while preserving his core gameplay, we have adjusted the duration of Tarka Ji's Ultimates across different modes and talents. This is to maintain a balanced combat pace and ensure fair matchups with other heroes.

 

Souljade Adjustments

I. Move Souljades

1. Reduced enemies'staggering time caused by Souljade [Stormstride] when they are knocked down on the ground.

 

Weapon Adjustments

I. Staff

1. Newly added Staff Souljade [Stanchion·Sky Pillar].

2. Newly added Staff Souljade [Ocean Parter].

 

II. Polesword

The damage multipliers of the 2nd stage of Torrent Flow have been adjusted from 3.42x2 to 3.2x2, and the damage multipliers of the 3rd stage of Torrent Flow have been adjusted from 2.81x3 to 2.61x3.

 

In-game Adjustments

I. Shadow Corruption Pace Adjustment 

We have made adjustments to the spreading pace of Shadow Corruption in Ranked Mode, Quick Match, and BOT Mode. The pace of the first 1-5 instances of Shadow Corruption has been accelerated, and a slight increase has been made to the size of the safe area after the first 1-3 instances of Shadow Corruption.

II. Features Optimization

1. The current scene's name is now displayed on the map.

 

III. Others

1. The duration of Vermillion Bird's Might has been reduced from 210 seconds to 180 seconds.

2. In response to the changes in the pacing of Shadow Corruption mentioned earlier, the refresh time of Morus'Blessing has been adjusted.

3. During the preparation phase, the Melee Aim Assist and locking functions for players have been disabled.

4. Optimized the timing of interrupting some Gestures.

 

Out-game Adjustments

I. New Collection: [Talents]

1. The original Accessory's effect that changes the Skill Ultimate can now be freely equipped in the [Talents] tab under Collection. This allows you to select the appearance change for the corresponding Skill and Ultimate of the hero.

2. The corresponding Accessories must still be obtained to unlock Skills and Ultimates.

 

II. Hero Badge

Enigma Peak Hero Badge [Proficient Pathfinder] expanded the Extreme quality stage.

 

III. Animation Played when Previewing Outfits and Weapons

1. Added animation of Zai when previewing her Extreme Outfit [Wandering Firefly].

2. Added animation of Staff Extreme Skin [Journey of Blades·The Golden-Hooped Rod] with the officially authorized soundtrack " Dagger Group Prelude".

 

IV. Voice Pack

New voice pack feature added for cosmetics. Unlock the voice pack to use it with the corresponding outfit. The following outfits automatically unlock their respective voice pack:

1. Akos Hu Legendary Outfit [Journey of Blades·Wukong].

2. Yueshan Legendary Outfit [Journey of Blades·Yang Jian].

3. Feria Shen Legendary Outfit [Journey of Blades·Purple Fairy].

 

Showdown Adjustments

I. Combat Adjustments

The invincibility duration during the spawn animation of Stone Monsters and Corpse Monsters in Immovable and Enigma Domain has been shortened.

 

II. Out-game Adjustments

A Sense grade prompt has been added to the loading screen in Showdown mode.

 

III. Enigma Domain Adjustments

1. Boss monsters in Enigma Domain will no longer generate individual drops. In Enigma Domain, players will receive different amounts of Showdown Souljade/Quench Crystal drops based on the number of bosses defeated.

2. Bosses in Enigma Domain will no longer be enhanced based on progress.

3. The battlefields of some boss encounters in Eventide Temple and Shadowjade Mine have been adjusted to be more level and even.

4. The spawn points of boss monsters near Lake Yellowleaf and Sunvale Dwelling in the Eventide Temple have been adjusted.

5. The number of strongholds in the northern part of the main area in Shadowjade Mine has been reduced.

 

IV. Hero Adjustments

1. Valda Cui

(1) After successfully using [Defuse Solve], the combo of horizontal strikes has been changed to [Dragonslayer].

(2) During the [Nezha] move, [Defuse Solve] can be released at any time by using vertical strikes. This change only applies to the [Showdown] mode and does not affect other modes.

(3) The damage multipliers of [Dragonslayer] + [Nezha's Might] have been adjusted from 4.26+0.85*2+1.25*2+1.63*2 to 1.41+0.42*2+0.53*2+0.69*2, and the Aegis-break damage multiplier has been adjusted from 1 to 7. The damage multiplier of [Heartstopper Kick] has also been adjusted from 5.02 to 1.88, and the Aegis-break damage multiplier has been adjusted from 1 to 7.

//Dev Notes: The Spear's unique move. [Nezha's Might] is rarely used in [Showdown] due to its long duration. Therefore, we hope to retain the weapon's distinctiveness while enhancing its versatility and maneuverability to offset the disadvantage of the move's lengthy duration. We have also shifted some of its damage to break Astral Aegis, in order to enhance its effectiveness when fighting with the Boss protected by Aegis.
